Singaporean-based Gingko has reimagined and redesigned the traditional umbrella with a focus on sustainability. The umbrella uses 20 polypropylene pieces made via injection moulding and connected via snap-fit joints and hinges as opposed to a traditional umbrella which consists of 120 components comprising of metal, plastic, and wood. This makes it the world’s first 100 percent recyclable. As a shareholder in the Gingko brand, Avarna is taking its first step into reinventing umbrella manufacturing and finding more eco-friendly and sustainable ways of manufacturing.
